The Little Star of the Show
Megan Swody Mignot, son Jonathan and Husband Josh and Daughter Becky joined us in Pavilion 3 near Whipple Dam. Retta Smith motored in from Boston, just like she always did, arriving just in the nick of time! Maybe her baby--due in 4 months--will slow her down. Becky Ferguson and Bridget were the other former counselors who made the trip, along with Marge and her grad student Liz Dixon from Clemson, our interns Danielle and Kate from Leeds Met in England, and current counselors Katrina, Sarah, Caroline, Snigdha, camper and step-granddaughter Hayley Townsend with my husband John, and Ben--the Secret Chef, who kept us all fueled all week. We all enjoyed the Doans Bones barbecue--no more cooking for this team--and a perfectly lovely summer evening in the PA woods. Thanks to all who made the trip and to the 50% of you who filled out the survey. It's not too late, sez Marge! Just fill it out when you can. You are an accomplished and fruitful bunch, and are all able to Cook Like a Chef!

Friday Camp Reception
Reception and Award Ceremony
As always, camp went out in a flurry of activity as the excited campers showed their families what they had been up to all week. We had a record 30 campers for the Basics program this year, and 20 received scholarships through a PA TRACKS SNAP-Ed grant from the USDA.Lots of paperwork, but so worth it! After the reception. Marge had a focus group meeting with former counselors Becky Ferguson and Bridget Murphy, and this year's senior counselors Hannah Rose and Katrina Deimendes. Katrina asked me if there will be a camp counselor reunion in another 10 years. Yes--just wheel me in!
